L3Harris Technologies showcased a new electronic warfare (EW) capability during the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) exhibition in London.
The demonstration featured the company’s cloud-based Distributed Spectrum Collaboration and Operations (DiSCO™) architecture. Using this system, L3Harris integrated communication radio frequency sensor data from a U.K.-produced Mobile Electronic Warfare Sensor with its Spectrum Server to generate a common operating picture of the Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS).
“The DiSCO technology enables the warfighter to operationalize and weaponize EMS in ways previously unavailable,” said Ed Zoiss, President, Space and Airborne Systems at L3Harris. “The battlefield in Ukraine has clearly demonstrated the need for next generation EMS capabilities to enhance operational effectiveness and rapidly address evolving threats.”
According to the company, this was the first time DiSCO incorporated both communication and radar data into a near real-time EMS picture while aggregating geographically dispersed data from a non-U.S.-built fielded sensor.
