L3Harris participated in the British Army’s VANAHEIM field demonstration in Germany, presenting its CORVUS-RAVEN counter-small uncrewed aircraft system (C-sUAS) for evaluation by British soldiers. The exercise aimed to test portable counter-drone solutions suitable for frontline use by generalist troops.
Held at the Hohenfels Training Area, VANAHEIM is a joint UK-U.S. initiative designed to explore emerging counter-UAS technologies in response to the growing threat posed by small drones on modern battlefields. Participants were required to provide systems focused on Class 1 UAS targets, with a strong emphasis on mobility and ease of use.
L3Harris fielded CORVUS-RAVEN in both vehicle-mounted and wearable configurations. The system includes passive detection capability up to four kilometres and integrates with battle management tools such as the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK). Alongside detection, it features jamming capabilities intended to neutralize hostile drones.
During the exercise, British Army personnel operated the system in simulated mission environments and provided direct feedback to L3Harris representatives. The interaction is expected to support further refinement of the platform’s features and interface.
CORVUS-RAVEN is built around the company’s Individual CORVUS Node (ICN), a compact, software-defined electronic warfare module designed for flexible deployment across multiple platforms.
The evaluation at VANAHEIM is part of broader efforts by the UK military to assess and adopt counter-drone technologies that can be integrated into current operational structures.
