The U.S. Marine Corps has awarded two major contracts to advance the full-rate production of its Amphibious Combat Vehicle armed variant, the ACV-30, with combined awards to BAE Systems and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace totaling nearly $300 million.
BAE Systems Land & Armaments LP received a $181.1 million firm-fixed-price modification for the procurement of 31 ACV-30 vehicles. The contract covers production, fielding support, and spare parts, with work to be carried out at five U.S. locations—most significantly in York, Pennsylvania. Delivery is scheduled to be completed by September 2027. If all options are exercised, the overall contract could reach $3.85 billion.
In parallel, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace of Norway was awarded a $117.9 million contract modification for the production of 101 PROTECTOR RT20 remote turrets designed specifically for integration with the ACV-30 platform. The modification finalizes a previously undefinitized contract and includes support equipment, spares, and fielding services. Turret production will be split between Johnstown, Pennsylvania (62%), and Kongsberg, Norway (38%). The contract could grow to $271.4 million with all options exercised.
The ACV-30 is a variant of the Marine Corps’ Amphibious Combat Vehicle family, configured with a stabilized 30mm medium-caliber cannon operated remotely from under armor. It is designed to provide mobile, amphibious fire support for Marines operating in littoral and contested environments.
Both contracts are funded under the Marine Corps’ FY2025 procurement budget and managed by Marine Corps Systems Command at Quantico, Virginia.
