Five prominent defense and technology companies, Ericsson (Sweden), Kongsberg (Norway), Nokia (Finland), Patria (Finland), and Saab (Sweden), have joined the Defense Track within Nordic Compass, a newly launched pan-regional Round Table for industry.
The first round table of the Nordic Compass is set to take place in Helsinki, Finland, and will be attended by President Alexander Stubb.
The Nordic countries account for around 10% of NATO defense expenditure in Europe, placing the region among the top 4 largest spenders in Europe, according to a press release shared by Patria.
“The commitment of these five leading companies in the Defense Track is a significant strengthening of the Nordic Compass alliance, at a moment of rapid acceleration in European defense efforts,” says Jyri Häkämies, chair of the Nordic Compass Defense Track and former Defense Minister of Finland.
Nordic Compass is both an alliance established on May 12, 2026. It includes 30 large companies across the region, with its areas of interest spanning capital markets, deep tech, defense, and energy.
