TULPAR, a tracked armored land vehicle developed by Otokar, will compete in Poland's armored combat vehicle tender. In Poland's tender, which aims to meet the need for armored vehicles that can support Abrams tanks, OTOKAR will compete against powerful priests from Germany and South Korea.
In addition to TULPAR, the Lynx developed by the German company Rheinmetall and the Hanwha Redback ACV developed by Hanwha Defense are also expected to take part in the tender.
With this tender, Poland plans to place the domestically produced ZSSW-30 turret on the chassis of an armored combat vehicle to be purchased from a foreign manufacturer. Poland is expected to announce its final decision in 2024.
TULPAR, which is a multi-purpose platform with high firepower, modular structure and growth potential, where different configurations can be created to meet current and future operational requirements, provides a modular design approach, common body structure and common subsystems for different configurations. TULPAR can operate with common subsystems of different vehicle configurations, which increases the flexibility of use. Having Light Tank, Armored Combat Vehicle, Armored Personnel Carrier, Reconnaissance Vehicle, Command Control Vehicle, Air Defense Vehicle, Ambulance, Maintenance and Rescue Vehicle, Mortar Vehicle and other vehicle configurations using a common body structure, TULPAR's design approach using a common body structure offers significant logistical advantages as well as reducing the resources allocated for training.
