HENSOLDT introduced TAERVUS, a fully integrated Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) system that brings together advanced radio direction finders, receivers, jammers/exciters, powerful signal processing software and the company’s proprietary Spectrum Battle Management Suite (SBMS) on Thursday. The system consolidates HENSOLDT’s long-proven and trusted EW capabilities under a single unified name.
TAERVUS supports both COMINT (communications intelligence) and ELINT (electronic intelligence) missions, covering HF, VHF and UHF bands as well as higher microwave frequencies. In addition to wide-spectrum intelligence functions, the system offers jamming capabilities designed to disrupt enemy communications and radar systems.
According to HENSOLDT, the name TAERVUS is derived from the Latin words Terra (earth) and Corvus (crow). This reflects its identity as a land-focused EW solution, while the crow—an established symbol in electromagnetic warfare—represents situational awareness, adaptability and dominance in the spectrum environment.
With TAERVUS, HENSOLDT aims to deliver a scalable, cross-domain system architecture that enhances operational superiority in increasingly contested electromagnetic environments.
