Rheinmetall sends fourth mobile field hospital to Ukraine

Rheinmetall has supplied another mobile rescue station to the Ukrainian armed forces, expanding Kyiv’s frontline medical support capacity. The delivery includes a modular Role 2-type field hospital and was accompanied by training for Ukrainian military personnel at Rheinmetall Mobile Systeme GmbH’s facility in Meckenbeuren, Germany.

The mobile medical unit comprises three truck-trailers, each carrying two expandable container modules. Once deployed, the structure functions as a fully equipped field hospital, including zones for triage, emergency treatment, X-ray imaging, surgery, and intensive care. The system is designed for rapid deployment and relocation under challenging conditions, providing medical support closer to operational zones.

The training program covered both operational procedures and familiarization with the onboard medical equipment. Ukrainian personnel received instruction on the use of ventilators, X-ray systems, patient monitors, and surgical instruments. Emphasis was also placed on coordination between medical teams and efficient setup of the facility in field conditions.

This marks Rheinmetall’s fourth delivery of such a system to Ukraine. The company stated that additional deliveries and training sessions are scheduled through 2026.
