AL TAIF, an entity of EDGE Group specializing in comprehensive lifecycle support for land platforms, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A.Ş., a global leader in armored combat vehicle solutions.
The agreement, formalized at the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) 2025 in Abu Dhabi, aims to enhance the operational readiness and battlefield effectiveness of the UAE Armed Forces’ BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) fleet.
The MoU was signed by Rashed Al Kaabi, CEO of AL TAIF, and Kadir Nail Kurt, General Manager and CEO of FNSS, marking a strategic collaboration to modernize approximately 615 BMP-3 IFVs.
The upgrade program will introduce advanced mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, ensuring that the vehicles meet modern operational and technological standards.
Rashed Al Kaabi highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating:
"By combining FNSS’s expertise in vehicle modernization with AL TAIF’s extensive experience in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), we aim to extend the service life and effectiveness of the UAE Armed Forces’ armored fleet. This initiative underscores AL TAIF’s commitment to innovation and excellence in defense solutions."
Kadir Nail Kurt emphasized FNSS’s proven track record in vehicle upgrades, adding:"FNSS has successfully executed modernization programs for armed forces across Türkiye, the USA, the GCC, and Southeast Asia. Our capability enhancement and life extension solutions will ensure that the UAE’s BMP-3 IFVs remain reliable and combat-ready for years to come."
Beyond the BMP-3 program, AL TAIF and FNSS will explore further collaboration opportunities to support the UAE Armed Forces, reinforcing EDGE Group’s commitment to advancing the country’s defense capabilities.
