Türkiye's ASELSAN has signed a memorandum of understanding with Romania’s state-owned defense company ROMARM to explore new areas of cooperation, particularly in smart munitions and guidance kits. The agreement follows ASELSAN’s continued engagement in Romania through regular participation in the Black Sea Defense, Aerospace and Security (BSDA) exhibition and ongoing commercial efforts in the country.
According to ASELSAN CEO Ahmet Akyol, the meeting in Bucharest focused on developing joint work in several product categories. “We held a productive discussion with Romanian defense company ROMARM in Bucharest. We signed a memorandum to expand our cooperation, primarily in smart munitions and guidance kits. ASELSAN will continue to advance international partnerships to contribute to global security,” Akyol said.
The memorandum indicates a closer industrial relationship between Türkiye and Romania, as both sides look to enhance defense production capabilities and technology exchange.
