EVA Air, a leading Taiwanese airline, has secured a firm order for six additional A350-1000 long-range aircraft and three A321neo single-aisle jets, finalizing its earlier commitment made in March 2025. This new order increases the airline's backlog to 24 A350-1000s and 18 A321neo aircraft.
The decision to expand its fleet reflects EVA Air's continued focus on enhancing operational efficiency and customer comfort. Both the A350-1000 and the A321neo are recognized for their high performance in their respective segments, offering improved fuel efficiency and range. These new aircraft are expected to play a significant role in the airline’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its market presence.
With the A350-1000, EVA Air will bolster its capacity for long-haul routes, benefiting from the aircraft’s industry-leading range and fuel efficiency. The A321neo will further improve the airline’s capabilities for regional travel, offering reduced fuel consumption and operational flexibility.
The A350, renowned for its advanced technology and long-distance capabilities, offers a range of up to 9,700 nautical miles, setting a new benchmark for intercontinental air travel. Equipped with Rolls-Royce engines, it consumes 25% less fuel than previous models and reduces carbon emissions by a similar margin. Additionally, the aircraft can operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with plans to reach 100% SAF compatibility by 2030.
Since its introduction, the A350 has received over 1,360 orders worldwide, and over 640 units are currently in service with 38 operators, primarily on long-haul routes. Meanwhile, the A321neo continues to lead the regional aircraft market, with more than 6,800 orders since its launch in 2016, capturing a market share exceeding 80%.
