AeroVironment has announced the launch of Titan 4, the latest addition to its suite of radio frequency-based Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS). Developed as a lighter and more compact system, Titan 4 is designed to detect and neutralize Group 1 and 2 drone threats across mobile, dismounted, or fixed-site operations.

According to the company, Titan 4 integrates multiple capabilities into a single chassis, making it 17% lighter and 73% smaller than previous iterations. It delivers a total of 540W of output across six RF bands, offering a reported 250% increase in transmit power compared to its predecessor. The system is deployable in under five minutes and includes embedded AI and machine learning support via the Titan-SV system for passive, long-range detection and airspace monitoring.

Trace Stevenson, President of AV’s Autonomous Systems Segment, stated that Titan 4 builds on the operational experience of over a thousand units currently deployed in the field.

In parallel with the Titan 4 launch, AeroVironment has expanded its Titan suite with several complementary solutions:

Titan-MS: A fixed-site, AI-powered system that fuses RF, radar, and optical sensors to identify and counter both RF-controlled and autonomous drone threats, while also monitoring human and vehicle movements. Titan-EO/IR: A portable, multi-sensor platform combining RF capabilities with MWIR sensors to deliver wide-area airspace tracking and threat neutralization. Titan-SV LOB: A fixed or mobile solution for 3D tracking of small UAS threats, offering 360-degree coverage and azimuth/elevation data, with interoperability across platforms. Titan-SV MOSA/SOSA: Currently in development, this modular, open-architecture version of Titan-SV is intended for integration with next-generation multi-mission systems based on the SOSA and MOSA frameworks.

Jimmy Jenkins, Executive Vice President of the company’s Precision Strike and Defense Systems Group, described the expanded Titan lineup as a response to evolving multi-domain threats and emphasized ongoing efforts to accelerate production and fielding.

Originally selected in 2022 as a Program of Record capability for a Department of Defense customer, Titan systems are now in use by U.S. military branches, special operations forces, and federal agencies. International operators—including NATO members and allied countries in Latin America—have also integrated Titan systems for airspace security and drone defense. In the U.S., they have been deployed for crowd safety at major public events.
