Saab and Swedish Armed Forces extend Gripen maintenance agreement

Saab and the Swedish Armed Forces have extended their existing agreement for the maintenance and support of Gripen fighter aircraft. The new order, valued at approximately SEK 4 billion, covers support and maintenance services for Gripen C/D and Gripen E variants. Deliveries under the agreement are scheduled for 2026–2027.

The contract also allows the Swedish Armed Forces to place additional orders for maintenance and support services through 2029.

Under the extended agreement, Saab will continue to provide technical system support, spare parts, repair services, training, and other work required for the operation of Gripen aircraft.

“This contract extension means that we will continue to ensure a very high availability for Gripen and deliver the support the Swedish Air Force needs to maintain a high level of readiness,” said Lars Tossman, Head of Saab’s Aeronautics business area.
