Indra highlights longstanding expertise in military and civil air-ground communications

Indra, through its Pal Care Systems portfolio, continues to build on nearly six decades of experience in air–ground communications for both civil and military users. Pal Care Systems was established in 1966 and has since become a leading supplier of ground-to-air radios supporting air traffic control operations worldwide.

The company’s solutions are designed specifically for demanding military environments, including ground-based and naval installations. These radios are engineered and tested to rigorous military standards, ensuring resistance to shock, vibration and harsh environmental conditions.

“Our military radios are purpose-built for operational environments, whether on land or at sea, and are fully tested to meet stringent military standards,” said Ian Crompton, Portfolio Manager at Indra.

Indra’s military radios operate across the full 100–400 MHz frequency range and support both legacy Have Quick waveforms and the latest SATURN voice communication standards. The company has a proven operational track record, having supplied its M7 radios to the Brazilian Navy and Brazilian Air Force, where they have been deployed across a wide range of naval and air force applications.

Beyond its military portfolio, Indra also plays a key role in civil aviation communications. In Brazil, the company provides nationwide ground-to-air communication coverage for the Brazilian Air Force, underscoring its ability to support large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure.

“We focus on building long-term relationships and being a flexible, caring supplier that adapts to our customers’ needs,” Crompton said. “Our strategy is to build on the trust and success we already have as we continue to grow in the region.”

Through a combination of proven technology, operational reliability and customer-centric support, Indra aims to further strengthen its position in military and civil air traffic communications markets across Latin America and beyond.
