The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) confirmed that the sale aligns with U.S. foreign policy objectives, strengthening Australia’s defense capabilities and its interoperability with U.S. forces. Lockheed Martin, with operations in both the US and Australia, will be responsible for manufacturing and delivering the systems.
According to DSCA, this sale will enhance Australia’s ability to counter emerging threats, contributing to regional stability in the Western Pacific. The agreement does not require additional US personnel deployment to Australia and will not impact US defense. No offset agreements have been finalized at this stage, with potential terms to be determined in future negotiations.
