Turkish firearms manufacturer GIRSAN has announced the establishment of a new Defense and Aerospace Hub in the Giresun Organized Industrial Zone. The company, known primarily for its pistol production, said the investment aims to expand its role in both civilian and military aerospace supply chains.
The facility, developed with a $10 million investment, covers 7,500 square meters and is equipped with high-precision machinery. GIRSAN plans to supply parts to major global aircraft manufacturers, including Boeing and Airbus, while also producing critical components for military programs such as turbojet engines and missile systems.
Board Member İbrahim Cürgül said the move reflects the company’s intention to broaden its activities beyond the firearms sector. “With this investment, our goal is to be a strong player not only in the small arms industry but also in the defense and aerospace sectors,” he stated.
Expansion in USThe company has also been expanding its international footprint. Earlier this year, GIRSAN established GIRSAN USA in Florida, with operations initially focused on distribution across North and South America. According to Chairman Veysel Cürgül, the registration process is ongoing. “We will initially start with distribution activities in the United States. From Florida, we will provide logistics to both North and South America. In 2026, we plan to launch an assembly line, followed in the coming years by a full production facility,” he said.
Cürgül added that investing in the U.S. market carries strategic weight: “All major global companies have a presence in America. It is the main hub for small arms manufacturers. A large share of our exports already goes to the American continent. By managing distribution locally, we will simplify processes and, once production begins, achieve a cost advantage.”
Currently exporting to more than 55 countries, GIRSAN supplies civilian, law enforcement, and military customers. It became the first domestic company to provide pistols to the Turkish Armed Forces, and its MC P35 pistol has gained international recognition, including adoption by U.S. Special Forces.
