Turkish firearms manufacturer TİSAŞ celebrates 32nd anniversary

Turkish firearms manufacturer TİSAŞ marked its 32nd anniversary with a range of activities that honored its past and introduced new corporate social responsibility projects. The program started with a visit to the grave of company co-founder and former chairman Ahmet Alemdaroğlu, who passed away recently.

The event brought together local officials, industry stakeholders, academics, and company employees. TİSAŞ emphasized that the anniversary was not only a moment of celebration but also a time to renew its commitment to social responsibility.

Support for Vocational Education and Students

As part of the anniversary program, TİSAŞ unveiled several initiatives aimed at supporting technical education. These include donations of equipment to local vocational schools, workshop programs and internships for undergraduate and associate degree students, and new university cooperation projects.

Launch of "TİSAŞ Academy"

One of the key announcements was the introduction of “TİSAŞ Academy,” a new initiative designed to provide engineering students with both technical instruction and hands-on field experience in the defense sector. The program drew strong interest from participants.

TİSAŞ General Manager Çetin Çıtakoğlu said the academy aims to help students build both industry knowledge and entrepreneurial perspective. He also announced that the company is in discussions with a local university to establish a new “Weapon Technician” department within Arsin Vocational School. “We are proud to be part of this community—not just as a manufacturer, but as a stakeholder in building the future,” he said.

Focus on University Collaboration

TİSAŞ reaffirmed its commitment to expanding cooperation with universities, particularly in the field of defense technologies. The company aims to enrich the academy curriculum with applied workshops, technical visits, and research projects, enabling students to gain practical and theoretical experience relevant to the defense industry.
