Turaç and POF sign ammunition cooperation deal at IDEF 2025

Turkish ammunition manufacturer Turaç signed a cooperation protocol with Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) during the IDEF 2025 International Defense Industry Fair, held from July 22 to 27 at the Istanbul Expo Center.

The agreement marks a new chapter in defense industry collaboration between Türkiye and Pakistan. Although specific terms were not made public, the cooperation is expected to involve joint initiatives in the production and supply of military-grade ammunition.

Founded in 1987, Turac is one of Türkiye’s leading private ammunition producers, with an annual capacity exceeding 200 million rounds. The company manufactures a wide range of products under the Sterling, Kaiser, and V-Sport brands, supplying both civilian and military markets in 94 countries. Turaç has also recently been approved to join the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) system, becoming the first private Turkish ammunition manufacturer eligible to participate in NATO-coordinated multinational procurement programs.

POF, the largest defense production facility under Pakistan’s Ministry of Defence Production, supplies arms and ammunition to the Pakistani military and exports to more than 40 countries. The signing with Turac aligns with Pakistan’s broader strategy of diversifying its partnerships and strengthening indigenous defense capabilities.

IDEF 2025, organized under the auspices of Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense and supported by the Presidency of Defense Industries, continues to serve as a key venue for international cooperation.
