Turaç, one of Türkiye’s leading ammunition manufacturers, has been officially admitted into the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), marking a significant milestone in the company's international expansion. With this development, Turaç becomes the first Turkish private-sector ammunition producer to join the NSPA system.
Inclusion in the NSPA framework enhances Turaç’s visibility and credibility within the international defense supply chain, while also positioning the company to participate in potential ammunition procurement agreements with NATO member states. The move is expected to strengthen the company’s prospects for global partnerships.
This achievement holds particular significance for the broader Turkish defense industry, highlighting the growing integration of private Turkish defense firms into NATO’s logistical and procurement mechanisms. It also underscores Turaç’s compliance with international standards and its capacity to operate as a reliable supplier within multinational defense structures.
The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) serves all 32 NATO member states and partner countries by offering solutions in procurement, logistics, operational support, and infrastructure. Operating on a non-profit basis and funded by its customers, NSPA plays a key role in enhancing NATO’s operational effectiveness and cost-efficiency.
The agency functions under the NATO Support and Procurement Organisation (NSPO) and is governed by regulations approved by the North Atlantic Council. NSPO member nations also sit on the Agency Supervisory Board, which provides oversight and strategic direction for NSPA’s activities.
Companies approved within the NSPA system are eligible to be considered as potential suppliers in NATO cooperative projects and multinational procurement processes. This positions Turaç to explore new opportunities in defense markets across Europe and North America.
Founded in 1987, Turaç manufactures ammunition for both civilian and military use. The company produces over 200 million cartridges annually, with a substantial portion of its output destined for export markets.
