The 17th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF 2025), hosted by Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defence, will be held from July 22 to 27 at the Istanbul Expo Center. Marking its 32nd year in the industry, TİSAŞ, one of Türkiye’s leading small arms manufacturers will introduce a range of newly developed systems at the event for the first time.
While TİSAŞ maintains a strong export focus, the company is also regarded as a strategic partner by domestic public institutions thanks to its cost-effective, nationally produced solutions tailored for Türkiye’s security forces. Many of these systems are the result of joint work with its in-house R&D center, representing a notable example of successful cooperation between academia and industry.
Alemdaroğlu also noted the company’s recent inclusion in the Turkish Exporters Assembly’s (TİM) list of the top 1,000 exporters: “This recognition is a reflection of our growing momentum. With the systems we’ll be showcasing this year, we aim to expand our footprint across the 65 countries we currently export to. These efforts also highlight the broader progress being made in Türkiye’s defense industry.”
PX-5.7: Gaining Ground in the U.S. MarketAmong TİSAŞ’s most notable product launches last year was the PX-5.7 pistol—a model that gained rapid traction in the United States. Following a three-year R&D process, the pistol entered serial production and sold 22,000 units in its first year. The company now aims to double that figure by the end of 2025.
“This is a 5.7-caliber pistol—a class produced by only a handful of companies worldwide,” said Alemdaroğlu. “We developed the PX-5.7 in close collaboration with law enforcement users, and its unique operating system has made it stand out in the market. It’s not just a technical achievement—it also reflects the strength and reliability of the TİSAŞ brand on the international stage. With this performance, TİSAŞ has firmly positioned itself among Türkiye’s rising global defense manufacturers.”
