Rostec delivers new BMP-3 and BMD-2 vehicles to Russian Army

Russia’s state corporation Rostec announced the delivery of new batches of BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles and BMD-2 airborne combat vehicles to the Ministry of Defense ahead of Tanker’s Day (Day of Tankmen).

The company said the BMP-3s were supplied with full sets of multi-layered additional protection, while the BMD-2s were handed over after overhauls that included modernization upgrades.

“The production of armored vehicles at Rostec enterprises is running around the clock. Employees continue to modernize the vehicles, taking into account the experience of their use in the zone of the special military operation. Russian servicemen value the BMP and BMD for their mobility, high firepower and ease of operation even in the most difficult conditions,” said Bekhan Ozdoev, Industrial Director of Rostec’s Armament Cluster and a member of the Bureau of the Union of Machine Builders of Russia.

According to the statement, the new BMP-3s are equipped with anti-cumulative grills, armor screens, and upper hemisphere protection kits. Each vehicle also received the “Nakidka” camouflage system to reduce visibility, along with electronic warfare equipment.
