Quantum Systems expands in the UK with new investment and leadership

Quantum Systems announced the establishment of Quantum Systems Ltd. UK, marking its long-term commitment to the United Kingdom through an investment of up to €50 million over the next five years. The move follows the company’s full acquisition of Nordic Unmanned UK.

The expansion aligns with the UK Ministry of Defence’s 20-40-40 strategy, which envisions a force structure with 20 percent crewed platforms, 40 percent reusable platforms such as drones, and 40 percent expendable systems including rockets and missiles. Quantum Systems said its portfolio of short-, medium-, and long-range intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems, supported by its MOSAIC UXS multi-domain mission control software, is designed to meet this doctrine.

Investment in Local Capabilities

The company’s investment plan covers infrastructure, engineering, and partnerships with UK suppliers. It will establish Service, Support, Training, and Logistics Center (SSTLC) functions as needed, along with maintenance and repair operations and training and testing facilities. These efforts aim to create jobs and strengthen sovereign capabilities. A memorandum of understanding with Skyports will be signed at DSEI 2025 in London, further integrating Quantum Systems into the UK defense ecosystem.

Reliant Drone to Debut at DSEI

At DSEI UK 2025, Quantum Systems is presenting Reliant, its new long-range ISR platform. Reliant complements the company’s existing aerial systems and is operated via the MOSAIC UXS software, launched earlier this year. The drone extends Quantum Systems’ range of solutions for defense and security customers from short- to long-range missions.

New Leadership for UK Operations

To lead its UK operations, the company appointed Vito Tomasi as Managing Director of Quantum Systems Ltd. UK. A former Royal Marines officer, Tomasi served on deployments including Afghanistan before transitioning to finance at Goldman Sachs and later to technology investment with Speedinvest. His role will focus on developing Quantum Systems’ presence in the UK market.
