SRC, Inc. has signed a $1 billion foreign military sales agreement with the U.S. government to deliver counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) technologies to Qatar. This marks the first international transfer of the U.S. Army’s Fixed Site – Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aircraft System Integrated Defeat System (LIDS).
The system is designed to detect, track, identify, and neutralize unmanned aerial threats, which have become a persistent concern in both conflict zones and sensitive infrastructure areas. Under the agreement, SRC will provide detection and electronic warfare capabilities for deployment in fixed-site defense.
The LIDS platform integrates sensors, electronic attack modules, and command-and-control systems into a modular structure that can be configured for both stationary and mobile use. Its layered approach allows for real-time situational awareness and response, with minimal risk to surrounding infrastructure.
The sale comes amid growing international demand for technologies aimed at countering the rising use of drones in asymmetric warfare and surveillance. The agreement also reflects U.S. efforts to expand the availability of such technologies to partners in the Gulf region.
SRC, a U.S.-based not-for-profit defense research organization, developed LIDS as part of the U.S. Army’s modernization initiatives. The system’s adaptability is intended to accommodate new sensors and effectors as the threat landscape evolves.
The agreement with Qatar positions SRC as a key player in international counter-drone efforts and signals broader export potential for U.S. C-UAS solutions.
