Patria has signed an agreement with Airbus to supply composite component assemblies for the cargo hold of the new A350F widebody freighter.

The components will be produced at Patria’s Halli facility in Finland, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2025. The deal expands cooperation between the two companies, which have worked together on various aerospace projects.

“Patria is honoured to supply composite component assemblies to Airbus. This contract marks an extension of the long-standing and broad partnership between the two companies across various projects, showcasing Patria's capabilities in the international aerospace industry” said Mikko Kilpeläinen, Vice President, Commercial and Business Development, Sustainment Solutions of Patria.

Patria operates in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Latvia, and Japan, and is jointly owned by the State of Finland and Norway’s Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.

The Airbus A350F is the freighter version of the A350 family, capable of carrying up to 70 tonnes of cargo over a range of approximately 4,700 nautical miles. It features the industry’s largest main deck cargo door and meets the latest ICAO CO₂ emissions standards. The aircraft shares more than 98% commonality in parts and tooling with the A350-1000 passenger model, enabling operators to optimise maintenance and reduce operating costs.
