According to Jussi Järvinen, Executive Vice President of Protected Mobility at Patria, the vehicle has undergone extensive testing and is expected to enter serial production in 2027.
Features and capabilities
Patria TRACKX is built for operations across varied environments including roads, dense forests, hills, bogs, and snow. It can carry 12 soldiers with full equipment and operate alongside other tracked platforms. The vehicle is intended to serve as a base for multiple role variants in the future.
Key design features include wide rubber tracks, low ground pressure, a centrally positioned low centre of gravity, independently adjustable hydropneumatic suspension, and a flat underside without torsion bars. These characteristics aim to increase stability, mobility, and adaptability in challenging terrain.
Development and testing
Patria reports that the vehicle has been subjected to trials across diverse terrains to ensure operational performance. The company states that the TRACKX offers a modern and cost-effective option within the 13–18 tonne light tracked vehicle class.
The launch marks the latest step in the FAMOUS programme, which is focused on enhancing European mobility solutions for future land operations.
