Patria acquires Belgium-based ILIAS Solutions

Patria has announced the acquisition of ILIAS Solutions, a Belgium-based provider of digital defence platforms. This acquisition strengthens the Finnish company's digital services by incorporating ILIAS’ advanced fleet management software, which is recognized as the leading digital defence platform in the industry. Pekka Ruutu, Executive Vice President of Patria’s Portfolio Unit, highlighted the importance of data-driven solutions for fleet management, stating, “High-end MRO services with data-driven solutions and intelligent analytics are becoming increasingly important, if not essential, to provide optimal performance and availability across fleets. We at Patria are excited about acquiring the number-one defence platform and starting our joint journey with the ILIAS Solutions team.” He also noted the clear synergies between the two companies and the benefits this collaboration will bring to both companies’ customers and European joint programmes.

Jean-Pierre Wildschut, CEO of ILIAS Solutions, expressed his optimism about the acquisition, stating, “Being part of Patria Group will strengthen ILIAS Solutions’ broadening position as the partner of trust for the defence market, providing our customers with the needed assurance that is essential for a mission-critical information systems provider. The seamless combination of the ILIAS Solutions software suite with Patria’s OPTIME service concept provides vast potential for both companies.” Wildschut also emphasized that ILIAS Solutions will benefit from Patria’s expertise in land systems and military air operations.

This acquisition supports the digitalization of European defence, addressing capability gaps and improving preparedness. The integration of ILIAS’ platform into Patria OPTIME enhances its ability to provide predictive maintenance, proactive planning, and streamlined supply chain management, ultimately increasing fleet availability and performance.

The acquisition is subject to approval from relevant authorities in countries where ILIAS Solutions operates, including Belgium, the Netherlands, the US, Denmark, and Australia. The transaction price has not been disclosed.
