NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) has announced its latest cohort of more than 70 innovative companies for the 2025 accelerator programme. The announcement, made on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, marks the culmination of a competitive selection process that attracted over 2,600 submissions earlier this year.
The selected companies, headquartered across 20 NATO member countries, specialize in cutting-edge technologies such as quantum sensing, propulsion systems, biomedical equipment, and critical infrastructure solutions. The programme aims to address pressing security challenges in five key areas: energy and power, sensing and surveillance, data and information security, human health and performance, and critical infrastructure and logistics.
Beginning in January 2025, each participating company will receive €100,000 in funding alongside training in technology development, commercialisation, and defence applications. They will also gain access to specialised testing environments and a network of mentors, test centres, and end-users.
Professor Deeph Chana, Managing Director of DIANA, expressed his enthusiasm for the programme, stating, “We are proud to welcome the newest cohort of innovators into DIANA. Over the coming months, these creative, highly skilled companies will accelerate the development of their dual-use technologies as they work to solve a suite of complex, interconnected defence, security and resilience challenges.”
Chief Scientist Tien Pham highlighted the quality of this year’s participants: “The 2025 innovators form a truly impressive cohort combining deep technological expertise and creative problem-solving. We look forward to supporting their technical development and connecting them with DIANA’s resources to help grow their companies and address Allied needs.”
This year’s cohort includes companies like Atomiver S.R.O, Pure Alchemi, Microamp Solutions, and Neuroverse, representing a broad spectrum of technological domains and innovative approaches. With operations supported by DIANA’s headquarters in London, a regional hub in Tallinn, and a North American office in Halifax, the accelerator continues to strengthen NATO’s technological edge and foster collaboration across Allied nations.
DIANA’s initiative underscores NATO’s commitment to leveraging emerging technologies to tackle evolving defence and security challenges while fostering partnerships with forward-thinking enterprises.
