Milrem Robotics will supply a record number of THeMIS Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) to Ukraine as part of a donation from a European government. The delivery represents the largest fleet of UGVs sent to the country to date.
Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics, stated: “The cooperation between our governments and leading defence industry partners underscores how Europe can respond to shared threats with agility and unity. We take pride in contributing to Ukraine’s defence capabilities through our combat-proven THeMIS UGVs.”The assembly arrangement of this delivery is structured to allow scalability, enabling further units to be provided if required. Milrem Robotics will also train Ukrainian operators to ensure continued operational readiness.
The THeMIS UGV is a modular unmanned vehicle platform designed to support dismounted troops and enhance battlefield operations. It is already in service or part of programs in 19 countries, making it the most widely deployed system in its category. Ukraine has previously received 15 THeMIS units, which have been in operation since 2022.
This new donation highlights the continued commitment of European governments to support Ukraine and strengthen regional security through industrial and defence cooperation.
Milrem Robotics develops robotics and autonomous systems and operates from offices in Estonia, Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates.
The company’s flagship system is the THeMIS UGV, which is in use across 19 countries. Milrem also develops the HAVOC Robotic Combat Vehicle and the MIFIK autonomous functionalities kit. The firm previously led the iMUGS project under the European Defence Industrial Development Programme (EDIDP), focusing on scalable hybrid manned-unmanned systems.
