LIMA 2025 kicks off with strong global participation

The 17th edition of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) officially opened today on Malaysia’s Langkawi Island. Held from 20–24 May 2025 at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre and Langkawi International Airport, LIMA remains one of the Asia-Pacific region’s premier defense and aerospace exhibitions.

LIMA 2025 brings together global leaders in aviation, maritime, and defense technology. On the aviation side, major players such as Airbus, Embraer, and Leonardo are present with a strong lineup, while the maritime segment features renowned companies including Kongsberg and Naval Group, alongside a wide range of other naval industry participants.

Numerous Turkish defense companies are also exhibiting at this year’s show, contributing to the growing footprint of Türkiye’s defense sector in the region. The opening day featured impressive live demonstrations and aerial displays, drawing significant attention from international delegations and trade visitors.

Launched in 1991, LIMA has evolved from a regional showcase into a global platform for defense, aerospace, and maritime collaboration. The previous edition in 2023 hosted 550 exhibiting companies, 574 delegations from 52 countries, and over 42,000 visitors.

With expectations to surpass these figures, LIMA 2025 is set to host a broader spectrum of participants and present new technologies, system launches, and strengthened international partnerships.
