Leonardo and South Korea’s Hanwha Systems have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during ADEX 2025 in Seoul to explore new cooperation opportunities in the Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) field. The collaboration will focus on technologies for both air and land platforms.
According to the announcement, the agreement builds on the companies’ existing partnerships in avionics and mission systems. Leonardo and Hanwha previously worked together on developing and supplying systems such as the Grifo-E radar and the Infrared Search and Track System (IRST) for South Korea’s defense programs and international customers.
The new MoU is expected to further expand their cooperation framework in advanced sensing and targeting technologies that support current and future defense requirements in both domestic and export markets.
