Latin America's largest defense exhibition LAAD 2025 kicks off

The 15th edition of the Latin America Aerospace & Defence (LAAD) exhibition began on April 1, 2025, at the Riocentro Exhibition & Convention Center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As the largest defense and security trade show in Latin America, LAAD 2025 will run until April 4, gathering industry professionals, military officials, and government representatives from around the world.

This year’s event features a broad range of exhibitors from the defense and security sectors, including armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and private industry. The exhibition provides a platform for companies to present new technologies and discuss industry trends.

Several international defense firms are participating in LAAD 2025. BAE Systems is showcasing the upgraded CV90120 light tank, which offers enhanced mobility and firepower and is being considered for the Brazilian Army. EDGE Group is exhibiting its latest defense and security solutions, while Safran is presenting advancements in aerospace and military technology. FNSS and John Cockerill Defense are introducing the KAPLAN Medium Tank, and Brazilian giant Embraer is highlighting its newest defense systems.

The event also includes official delegations from multiple countries, as well as forums and seminars covering topics such as military logistics, security policies, and emerging defense technologies. Sessions like the IX Security Seminar and the International Symposium on Military Logistics provide insights into the region’s defense challenges and procurement strategies.

With thousands of industry professionals expected to attend, LAAD 2025 remains a key event for discussing developments in defense and security and exploring opportunities for collaboration in Latin America and beyond.
