IDEF 2025, one of the world’s leading defense industry exhibitions, is currently underway at the Istanbul Expo Center. Organized under the auspices of Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defence, with the support of the Presidency of Defence Industries and KFA Fairs, the event runs through July 27.
Among the key participants from Türkiye’s defense sector, Koç Bilgi ve Savunma Teknolojileri A.Ş. (KoçSavunma) is presenting a range of high-tech solutions focused on naval warfare and underwater communications.
Specializing in underwater acoustics and electronic systems for maritime platforms, KoçSavunma is showcasing domestically developed, R&D-driven technologies designed to enhance Türkiye’s naval capabilities. Two systems in particular are drawing attention at the company’s booth: the UWaT D-1 Digital Underwater Telephone and the MALAMAN smart naval mine.
The UWaT system enables analog and digital acoustic communication between submarines and surface vessels, and is already in operational use with the Turkish Navy. Meanwhile, the MALAMAN mine integrates advanced sensor technologies for selective engagement based on pre-identified threat profiles.
In addition to its technology demonstrations, KoçSavunma is actively engaging with national and international delegations throughout the event, aiming to shape the future of maritime operations.
