Iveco Defence Vehicles in Focus: Expanding Lineup and Global Reach

IVECO Defence Vehicles continues to strengthen its position in the global land systems market with a growing portfolio of wheeled armoured vehicles, amphibious platforms and military trucks. The company is increasingly focusing on modularity, mobility, and multinational collaboration as it targets both NATO and non-NATO customers across Europe and beyond. In an interview with defensehere.com, Nazario Bianchini, Head of Sales at IVECO Defence Vehicles, provided insights into the company’s full range of vehicles, including the Centauro II, an 8x8 wheeled armoured vehicle equipped with a 120mm gun system. Developed in cooperation with Leonardo and integrated by the consortium CIO, the vehicle offers high firepower and strategic mobility. It has already entered series production for the Italian Army and has attracted interest from additional European land forces.

IVECO’s amphibious vehicle, developed for use in both naval and marine missions, has already been delivered in large numbers to several countries. More than 300 units have been shipped to the United States as part of a major contract awarded in recent years. The vehicle is capable of operating in open-sea conditions and is available in different configurations to meet various operational needs, such as troop transport, combat roles, and mortar support.

Beyond combat vehicles, the company’s tactical truck portfolio covers a broad spectrum from 4x4 to 10x10 configurations. These vehicles are currently in service with several European militaries including those of Italy, France, Germany, Spain, and Romania. The company also supports industrial localization, as demonstrated by its presence in Romania and recent steps to expand into the Greek market.

IDV continues to supply a range of land systems that cover mobility, firepower, and logistical needs. The company has been involved in several national and multinational programs, and its export activity has grown in parallel with efforts to localize production in partner countries.
