Haluk Görgün, head of Turkish Secretariat of Defense Industries (SSB), announced that Turkish Aerospace Industries’ (TUSAŞ) jet trainer HÜRJET has completed a significant stage in its certification process.

In a statement shared on his social media account, Görgün said:
HÜRJET, the nation’s original aircraft, has successfully passed another strategic milestone in its certification journey. The Design Organisation Approval (DOA) and Production Organisation Approval (POA) documents represent the recognition of our national aviation vision at international standards.

Görgün added:
This achievement is not only a technical success but also a historic step toward independent skies. The future jet trainer will carry the mark of our national engineering on tomorrow’s battlefields. With the prayers of our people, the dedication of our engineers, and the cooperation of our institutions, we will continue to work with determination for a fully independent future in our skies.

The DOA is a certification granted by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). It verifies that a company has the necessary processes, engineering infrastructure, and quality management systems to design aircraft or aircraft parts and certify those designs.

The POA, also issued by EASA, covers the production side. It confirms that a company is capable of manufacturing aircraft or parts in compliance with international quality and safety standards.
