Hanwha Aerospace denies any link to Polish investigation

Hanwha Aerospace has issued a statement distancing itself from an investigation in Poland into alleged falsification of invoices by a Warsaw-based company.

The company’s clarification follows a report by Polish broadcaster TVN24 on August 8, which said prosecutors, counterintelligence, and tax authorities are examining financial transactions between a South Korean defense contractor and the Polish firm.

Hanwha Aerospace said it has “no contractual relationship with the company under investigation” and that all of its defense agreements in Poland are signed directly with the Polish government without the involvement of intermediaries.

The company also noted that the TVN24 report included images of its K9 self-propelled howitzers, warning that this could create a misleading perception of its involvement in the case.

Hanwha emphasized that it complies with all laws and regulations in Poland and in every country where it operates, and that it is committed to maintaining transparency and ethical standards in its defense partnerships.

The investigation in Poland concerns two multi-million złoty invoices issued for “advisory services” shortly after the signing of large-scale arms deals between Warsaw and a South Korean defense supplier. Prosecutors have not publicly named the companies involved.
