General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a subsidiary of General Dynamics, announced that it has been awarded the Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services 2 (EMITS 2) task order valued at $1.25 billion. The contract, awarded in September, covers a five-month transition phase followed by seven option years.
The U.S. Army Europe and Africa oversees a broad and complex information technology environment spanning multiple networks, facilities and mission partners. The command requires scalable and adaptable IT solutions to meet the operational demands of its geographically dispersed forces.
Under EMITS 2, GDIT will continue delivering enterprise IT, communications and mission command support across the command’s headquarters, subordinate units, NATO and allied partners. The company will focus on modernizing network infrastructure, strengthening the mission partner network, and enhancing cybersecurity defenses. It will also integrate advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing and data analytics, to support interoperability and decision-making.
“A modern, secure and resilient IT network is critical to U.S. Army Europe and Africa’s deterrence and readiness posture,” said Brian Sheridan, GDIT’s senior vice president for Defense. “We look forward to continuing to deliver a modern digital backbone that will enable our soldiers and commanders to stay connected, coordinate seamlessly with mission partners and act decisively on the battlefield.”
The award extends GDIT’s existing support for the Army. Earlier in 2025, the company received a task order for Integrated Base Defense Sustainment Support, and it also provides training services to soldiers across the force.
General Dynamics employs over 110,000 people worldwide and reported $47.7 billion in revenue in 2024.
