GA-SI and Radian Aerospace sign MOU for technology collaboration

General Atomics Systems Integration (GA-SI) and Radian Aerospace have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on aerospace technology development and explore potential localization initiatives in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The partnership will focus on integrating advanced avionics, electrification, and actuation technologies into aerospace platforms. GA-SI will contribute expertise in high-performance systems, while Radian will bring its single-stage spaceplane architecture. A key area of development includes electromechanical braking and control actuation systems, designed to reduce weight and optimize operational efficiency.

Scott Sappenfield, Vice President of GA-SI’s Engineering Services Division, stated that the agreement includes exploring industrial partnerships and localization opportunities in the UAE.

The MOU also sets the framework for broader cooperation, including potential participation in UAE offset projects. As GA-SI expands in the UAE, the companies will assess options for local manufacturing, technology transfer, and workforce development.

Richard Humphrey, CEO of Radian, highlighted the role of the collaboration in advancing Radian One, a single-stage-to-orbit spaceplane. The agreement includes evaluating partnerships with certified suppliers and manufacturers for landing gear systems and aerospace platform adaptability.

The companies will continue discussions on integrating new technologies to support aerospace sector developments and cost-effective solutions for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
