US Special Forces choose Turkish-Made GIRSAN Pistols

GIRSAN, one of Turkiye’s leading firearm manufacturers, has achieved a significant milestone. The company’s MC P35 model pistols have been selected by the US Special Forces for official use. This decision comes after a thorough evaluation process by US defense authorities.

The delivery of the pistols will be carried out through the Picatinny Arsenal, the US Armed Forces’ central hub for weapons and ammunition procurement. With this development, a Turkish-made pistol will be used in the field by US Special Forces for the first time, marking an important step in strengthening Turkiye’s position in the global defense industry.

Nevzat Cürgül, Vice Chairman of GIRSAN’s Board of Directors, commented on the achievement, stating, “We didn’t create a special model to convince the US Special Forces. This is the natural result of 30 years of quality focused production.” He emphasized that this success is not only a source of pride for GİRSAN but also for the entire Turkish firearm industry.

The chosen model, the MC P35 (YAVUZ 14), was previously named “2024 Weapon of the Year” by the National Rifle Association (NRA) and gained international recognition as the first Turkish pistol to appear on the cover of American Rifleman magazine. The US Army’s selection of the same model further enhances its reputation for reliability, performance, and recognition.

With exports to over 55 countries, GIRSAN provides firearms to both civilian users and military and law enforcement agencies. The company is also the first domestic producer to supply pistols to the Turkish Armed Forces.

This new partnership with the United States is seen as a strategic step for Turkiye’s defense industry exports, highlighting the growing international trust in local production.
