Hürjet, which can be used as an aerobatic demonstration aircraft as well as light attack, training, and patrol duties, flew for the first time with the "Turkish Stars", the aerobatic team of the Turkish Air Force. Türkiye's first jet trainer and light attack aircraft, Hürjet, performed a formation flight with F-5 aircraft.
Continuing its flight tests, Hürjet will replace the F-5 aircraft used by the Turkish Stars. The Turkish Stars aerobatic team will fly with Hürjet instead of the NF-5 aircraft it uses in the near future.
Turkish Stars accompanied the last flight of Hürjet, which has carried out 17 flights to date and successfully completed flight control system, air data system and aircraft system tests by staying in the air for a total of 9 hours and 8 minutes. HÜRJET stayed in the air for 37 minutes in this flight, reaching an altitude of 15 thousand 403 feet and a speed of 351 knots. After the flight, HÜRJET successfully landed on the runway and then performed an "Elephant Walk" with the Turkish Stars.
Variants of the Hürjet include the Jet Trainer version, the Aerobatic Demonstration Aircraft version, the Combat Readiness Aircraft Version, the Red Aircraft Version, and the Aircraft Carrier versions. The upper altitude limit is 45 thousand ft. The Hürjet aircraft can fly at 1.4 times the speed of sound.
President of Defense Industries Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, in his Twitter account, said the following:
“Fly high HÜRJET
Because when you fly, Our Flag flies in the sky.
HÜRJET, the national star of our country in the sky, takes its place among the Turkish Stars.
Counting down the days for light assault, training, patrol and acrobatic demonstration missions, our HÜRJET's path in the skies will always be independent and open."
