CANiK M2 QCB, Türkiye's first and largest caliber machine gun to be certified after passing its qualification tests, stands out as the best in the world in its class.
CANiK, which has been intensively continuing deliveries of the 12.7 mm machine gun, popularly known as the anti-aircraft gun, has transformed the CANiK M2 QCB into a product group and developed a second product, the CANiK M2F. Last year, the CANiK M3 joined the product group. The CANiK M3, which can be used effectively on naval and land platforms, especially air platforms, is expected to bring an increase in exports this year.
CANiK achieves a first in Türkiye with the delivery of 750 anti-aircraft guns in one go
CANiK, one of the world's leading small arms manufacturers operating under Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS), delivered 750 units of CANiK M2 QCB, Türkiye's only approved national anti-aircraft gun, to the Turkish Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies on the promised date in December 2022. In this way, the company realized the largest single delivery of 12.7 mm anti-aircraft guns in the history of the Republic.
CANiK M2 QCB
The Platform Machine Gun project (PMT 12.7) contract was signed between the Defence Industry Agency (SSB) and SYS in 2018. Accordingly, the 12.7 x 99 mm anti-aircraft CANiK M2 Quick Change Barrel (QCB), developed under the agreement, successfully passed all R&D, testing and qualification processes and entered the inventory in August 2022.
CANiK M2 QCB is the only weapon in the world that has successfully completed high pressure, accelerated rain, salt fog, low and high temperature, icing, chemical interaction tests during the qualification process, in which approximately 1 million shots were fired, and broke the world record with a barrel life of 20 thousand rounds.
The machine gun CANiK M2 QCB achieved an unprecedented result by completing all 23 different tests in accordance with the American TOP and NATO standards without error and repetition within 45 days with the SSB. During this qualification and testing process, over 200,000 rounds were used.
The CANiK M2 QCB, which features a quick-change barrel, was approved as Türkiye's single largest caliber machine gun.
CANiK M2 QCB entered the service of the Royal Malaysian Navy in January 2024.
