The Defense Industry Manufacturers Association (SaSaD) was established in Ankara on 27 December 1989 with the suggestion and support of the Ministry of National Defense.
SaSaD, which is 33 years old as of today, took the name of Defense and Aerospace Industry Manufacturers Association at the beginning of 2012, when manufacturers in the field of civil aviation and space were also included in the work area.
SaSaD, which is a member of 254 companies operating in the defense industry, is an association with a turnover of over 10 billion dollars and over 75,000 employees.
MKEK, ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, TAI, Barış Elektrik Endüstri A.Ş., Kale Kalıp AŞ, Defense Gereçleri Sanayi, TUSAŞ, OTOKAR, OTOMARSAN, HEMA and NUROL are among the founding members of SaSaD.
Making a statement on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the association, SaSaD Secretary General Dr. Ruşen Kömürcü said that as the Defense and Aerospace Industry Manufacturers Association, as the umbrella organization of the defense and aerospace industry in our country, they accelerated their work and made new breakthroughs in order to support the achievements in the sector.
