Sarsılmaz exhibited its pistols and rifles at the International Defense Industry Fair EDEX 2023 held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, on December 4-7.
Following Türkiye's recent good relations with Egypt, its reflections on the Turkish defense industry have started to come in a positive direction. Sarsılmaz held some meetings with Egyptian military officials at EDEX 2023, which he attended for the first time. These conversations include product sales and technology transfer.
Sarsılmaz Deputy General Manager Öner Özyılmaz evaluated EDEX 2023 in an interview with Defensehere.com.
"We introduced our 12.7 and 7.62 machine guns, 7.62x39 SAR 15T assault rifles, pistols. Here, we will continue to negotiate under the coordination of our Presidency of Defense Industries on both product and technology transfer. We will continue to work in these geographies under the leadership of our Presidency. The Egyptian Army is a very large army, it has factories to meet its needs, but these factories are old in terms of technology and products, and we, as the Turkish defense industry, have come a long way in the last 20 years. This is also noticed and known. Therefore, these collaborations will continue to grow through states and special representatives.
We also hosted our other customers with whom we had previously established relations in the African geography. They were here to visit this fair and technology, and we held meetings on behalf of our ongoing business. As our new customer, our biggest customer at this fair will be the Egyptian Army."
