In an interview with Defensehere.com, the officials of the Russian company Rosoboronexport presented their Orlan-10E and Orlan-30 Reconnaissance UAVs.
The company official said that these UAVs are already being operated for special military operations as well as reconnaissance missions by the Russian Land Forces.
The Orlan-10E is designed to control and monitor objects and equipment from the air in remote areas. With its capability to install various payloads, the UAV ensures remote monitoring of the surface with gyro-stabilized and non-gyro-stabilized photo, video and thermal imaging equipment on board. It can also monitor and detect cellular communication systems.
The range via radio channel of the UAV is 120 km while the range when the autonomous mode is on is up to 500 km which marks a huge figure for a tactical UAV.
The Orlan-30 is mainly designed to conduct aerial optical-electronic reconnaissance, search, detection and recognition of objects, and target designation for the application of high-precision weapons. The UAV is equipped with an optoelectronic target payload with laser target illumination.
The flight endurance of the Orlan-30 is no less than 10 hours, as the company official stated.
The company official also said that both UAVs are easy to maintain, to operate and to provide missions during highly intense combat environments.
