Offering innovative solutions with its work in the metal forming sector, Repkon attracts attention at home and abroad with its strategic products for the defense, aerospace and space industries.
Repkon is preferred by those in need in different parts of the world with its strategic machinery and equipment with innovative technology and high-precision production solutions for the compression of explosive materials, as well as flowforming, shearforming, rotational cold forging, closed/open die hot forging, hot spinning in the metal forming sector.
Recent conflicts in various parts of the world and the increasing use of ammunition have brought high demand. The 155-millimeter artillery shell, which is among the most important fire support elements of the ground troops, drew attention as one of the most intensively used ammunition types.
The Ukraine-Russia war has exacerbated the need for this issue. The United States, one of Ukraine's most important supporters, has decided to build 155-millimeter artillery shell production lines in Texas. A contract was signed with Repkon for the installation of this facility. 30 percent of the 155-millimeter bullets produced in the U.S. will be supplied from these production lines in Texas.
Confidence in Repkon soon brought a new contract. Repkon's U.S.-based company, Repkon USA, has been awarded a $435 million contract to design, build and commission a TNT production plant in Kentucky for the U.S. military.
TNT, a powerful explosive, is widely used in various munitions in the military field. The USA, which meets its TNT needs from abroad, aims to carry out production domestically with the facility to be established and to secure the supply chain for this critical substance for ammunition. Since the current supply chain is completely dependent on overseas resources, the creation of a local TNT production capacity for national defense is vital.
Strengthened by the new investment decision
Repkon has implemented various investment decisions to respond to the growing demand. In this context, Bowas, which operates in Austria and Switzerland, was acquired. Bowas specializes in the design, planning and construction of plants and equipment for the energy materials industry and the production of raw materials for the energy materials industry.
Bowas' competencies in the disposal of civilian explosives, military equipment and ammunition have strengthened Repkon's hand in responding to the recent increase in demand.
