Remigiusz Wilk, WB Group’s Communications Director told Defensehere FLYEYE drones operate on “a system that is a multi-glider” which makes it a difficult target to destroy as radars “don’t detect” the drone.
Wilk pointed out that after Türkiye, WB Group has become the second largest UAV maker in Europe. Wilk explained that WB group “manufacture reconnaissance UAVs multitasking UAVs as well the loitering munitions, manufacturing of over 2000 in this year.” Nonetheless drone production is only 20 per cent of WB Group’s operation, noted Wilk.
WB Group has received a large drone order from the Polish defense procurement agency with a contract running up to 2035 to produce 1700 drones.
Wilk stated that apart from drone production “WB Group is the largest manufacturer and supplier of military electronic as well as military communication, tactical communication, plus UAVs. 60% of our business is C3I (Command, Control, Communications, and Information) systems. All the systems inside the vehicles, even the warships as well.”
Wilk also said WB Group is expanding into naval operations: “Now we are going to the naval. We created the system for the naval forces. And this is the first time to show the naval FONET system and the whole Navy of some country will be upgraded to our standards of internal warship communication.”
Describing WB Group’s priorities for future development, Wilk emphasized the role of artificial intelligence (A.I.)
“The future we propose is artificial intelligence. In the future, we will be manufacturing the remote-control weapons station from 5.56 millimeters up to 40 millimeters for the outer cannons. Machine guns, grenade launchers, guns, cannons, outer cannons, and a system will work with the cameras with a 360 degrees field of view so we can obtain all the information, we can identify the targets, we can measure the distance using just the cameras and the A.I. system.”
Emphasizing the importance of soldier safety in their operations, Wilk said: “We are prepared for any situation in the future to help the war fighter, to have the soldier to fulfill task safely. All the system we develop is with the soldier's life in mind.”
