The Ministry of National Defence of Poland has signed an intergovernmental agreement with the United States to procure over 200 AARGM-ER (Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile – Extended Range) missiles. Manufactured by Northrop Grumman, this weapon system is valued at approximately USD 745 million, with deliveries scheduled between 2029 and 2035.
Poland plans to equip its fighter jets with the AARGM-ER missiles, designed to target and neutralize enemy radars, air, and missile defense systems. This acquisition will significantly bolster the Polish Air Force’s capabilities, with the missile offering a range exceeding 200 kilometers.
The AARGM-ER is a supersonic, air-launched tactical missile system widely regarded as the most advanced countermeasure against modern surface-to-air threats. It incorporates an upgraded airframe, propulsion system, and advanced warhead, delivering superior effectiveness. Already integrated into U.S. Navy aircraft, the missile system is gaining traction with international partners, solidifying its role in modern air combat operations.
