PARS III 8x8 armored combat vehicles, which are part of the inventory of the Royal Army of Oman and manufactured by the Turkish land vehicle manufacturer FNSS, took part in a recent joint exercise conducted by the Omani Armed Forces in collaboration with internal security elements.
The exercise, which included an amphibious landing operation led by the Royal Navy of Oman, saw active participation from the Royal Army of Oman, the Royal Oman Air Force, and the Royal Oman Police.
Footage released via the official communication channels of the Royal Army of Oman prominently featured the PARS III 8x8 tactical wheeled armored vehicles. During the exercise, the PARS III vehicles demonstrated their capability by successfully completing their assigned mission within the framework of the joint military maneuvers of the Omani Armed Forces.
FNSS and the Royal Army of Oman entered into an armored vehicle supply contract on Sept. 20, 2015. As per the terms of the agreement, FNSS delivered a total of 172 vehicles in 13 different configurations, including 145 PARS III 8x8 vehicles in eight configurations and 27 PARS III 6x6 vehicles in five configurations.
The initial delivery of the 8x8 armored vehicles commenced in July 2017.
Additionally, FNSS secured a logistics support contract for these vehicles spanning 20 years under a separate agreement.
In July 2022, FNSS further expanded its role by signing a contract to establish a "Factory Level Maintenance and Repair Center," aimed at providing comprehensive maintenance services throughout the vehicles' operational lifespan.
The PARS III 8x8 is specifically designed for both low and high-intensity battlefields, showcasing advanced tactical wheeled armored vehicle technologies.
Powered by a diesel engine, the PARS III 8x8 can achieve speeds up to 100 km/h and boasts an impressive operational range exceeding 800 km. Its fuel tanks are specially reinforced to prevent damage from impacts and punctures, with an additional reserve tank located safely under the vehicle's armor for emergency situations. Moreover, the vehicle is equipped with solid discs within its wheels, enabling continued operation even with a flat tire.
