A new national weapon system is being prepared to enter the service of the Turkish Navy.
Developed and produced by UNIROBOTICS, one of the SYS Group’s subsidiaries including CANiK, the TRAKON TARGAN Remote Controlled Weapon System (RCWS) is preparing to enter the service of the Turkish Navy.
While the factory acceptances of the national marine type RCWS are completed, TRAKON TARGAN will demonstrate its performance in the field with port acceptance tests in the next stage.
TRAKON TARGAN 12,7x99 millimeter RCWS will serve as close defense on the Hisar-class Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs), which were built within the scope of the contract signed between the Ministry of National Defense General Directorate of Shipyards and Military Factory and Shipyard Management Inc. (ASFAT) in line with the needs of the Turkish Navy.
Within the scope of the project, the Offshore Patrol Vessels TCG AKHİSAR and TCG KOÇHİSAR, which were launched with a ceremony held at the Istanbul Shipyard Command on September 23, 2023, will feature TRAKON TARGAN RCWS produced by UNIROBOTICS. UNIROBOTICS will deliver a total of 4 systems, 2 for each vessel.
TRAKON TARGAN, UNIROBOTICS' first solution in the field of naval RCWS, will feature the 12.7x99 millimeter CANiK M2 QCB, Türkiye's first and largest caliber heavy machine gun that has proven itself in combat and is qualified in combat. The company designed and manufactured the mechanical and electronic components and all software of the RCWS locally.
TRAKON TARGAN, which has a mechanical and electronic system design resistant to corrosion caused by sea conditions, will work in full compliance with ADVENT CMS (Network Supported Data Integrated Combat Management System) provided by HAVELSAN.
