The Euronaval 2024 exhibition, beginning today in Paris, highlights MBDA's advanced, sovereign weapon solutions that meet a growing array of maritime defense needs. As the European leader in complex weapon systems, MBDA’s portfolio addresses the full spectrum of naval threats—from uncrewed aerial and submersible vehicles to critical Deep Strike missions in response to rising high-intensity conflicts.
Evolving Deep Strike Capabilities
At Euronaval, MBDA is unveiling its latest Deep Strike solutions, including the next generation of the Exocet anti-ship missile family, renowned globally for its effectiveness. This year marks the first presentation of the submarine-launched Exocet SM40, a high-performance variant that doubles previous range capabilities and includes an enhanced seeker for complex electronic warfare environments. A specially branded Exocet MM40 B3c, celebrating the 4000th Exocet missile manufactured, is also on display. Additionally, MBDA is introducing the new TESEO Mk2/E, a multi-mission missile with enhanced range and precision, developed to fulfill the Italian Navy’s requirements for advanced anti-ship and land-attack capabilities.
Uncrewed Threat Response and Multi-Layered Defense
With the rise of uncrewed threats, MBDA is showcasing the Sea Warden system, designed for UAV and USV countermeasures to protect naval and commercial ships. This advanced system reflects the need for agile, scalable solutions to counter the evolving forms of uncrewed threats. Additionally, MBDA is emphasizing its investment in Laser Directed Energy Weapons for naval-based air defense, underscoring its role in innovative maritime security.
Euronaval 2024 also highlights MBDA’s multi-layered air defense capabilities. From short-range solutions like the SIMBAD-RC system, which leverages the MISTRAL 3 missile, to the Aster family known for high-end threat mitigation, MBDA’s systems ensure layered, sovereign defense. The Aster B1 NT, a result of Franco-Italian collaboration, offers hypersonic defense capabilities that meet Europe’s future security requirements.
Through ongoing technological advancements and multinational cooperation, MBDA remains committed to empowering European nations with state-of-the-art solutions for maritime and national defense.
MBDA can be visited at Euronaval 2024 in Hall 6, Stand J03.
