Leonardo presents its Virtual and Extended Reality Simulator

In an interview with Defensehere.com, Matteo Savoja, Simulation & Solution official at Leonardo, presented their Virtual and Extended Reality Simulator (VxR).

Matteo Sajova said that Leonardo has access to the real helicopter data, therefore they can ensure the highest fidelity in simulation solution and products.

Sajova also said that the company has simulators meant for different operators such as mission operators, camera operators and maintenance operators.

The latest product in the company’s portfolio, VxR, is designed to be compliant as a FTD level 6/7 FAA requirements.

The simulator does not only have a VR system but also tactile feedback where the pilot can interact with different instruments.

The VxR has also a six-degree short-throw motion system which provides acceleration and vibration to give the pilot a real experience during simulation.

The VxR is a compact simulation system, which can be easily connected with other simulators and allow a joint session.

The company official also indicated that this feature is very useful for armed forces.
