Latvia begins full-cycle production of Finnish Patria armored vehicles

Latvia is set to start complete manufacturing of Patria 6x6 armored vehicles, Defense Minister Andris Spruds revealed on Latvian radio Labrit.

The minister said the production of these vehicles, originally designed in Finland, signifies a pivotal step forward, with plans to supply over 20 units to the army by year-end. This initiative is part of a collaborative effort among Finland, Sweden, and Germany, dedicated to researching and manufacturing military equipment customized for the requirements of allied nations' armed forces.

The first Patria vehicle is expected to be ready for testing by July. The minister confirmed that they plan to produce around 30 armored vehicles per year, with 25 to be delivered to the National Armed Forces (NBS) this year.
